All about the Vietnam e-Visa

The Vietnamese e-Visa was introduced in 2017 by the Government of Vietnam to facilitate entry to the country for travelers from many parts of the world. Eligible travelers can obtain an online visa and travel to Vietnam for short-term tourism, tranist, or business purposes.

The online application form must be submitted within 5 business days before the intended trip since it is the maximum time necessary to process an e-Visa to Vietnam. Applicants do not need to visit any diplomatic post, and the entire application is online. After filling out a short online form, it is necessary to cover the service fee of 79 Euro and wait for the visa approval

What is important, all travelers need first check whether the entry point through which they plan to enter Vietnam is the one that accepts electronic visas. The selected entry point must be then indicated in the online visa application.

How to apply for a Vietnam visa online?

To obtain a Vietnam visa online, eligible travelers need to go to the online application. There are just a few steps to follow to complete it successfully:

  1. Fill out the form with the required details, including standard passport data, travel details, planned arrival date, length of your stay, and the entry point in Vietnam.
  2. Upload a copy of your bio-data passport page and your face photo.
  3. Double-check the form for correctness.
  4. Cover the service fee of 79 Euro.
  5. Go to your e-mail and check the confirmation of your application with the instruction on the entire application process. The message will contain the confirmation number that is essential to verify the status of your visa application.
  6. Download your approved Vietnam visa delivered to your email address. Please print it out and have it at hand throughout the entire trip and stay in Vietnam.

Please note: The real processing time of your visa application is at the total discretion of the Vietnamese immigration authorities. It may take more than 5 days in some particular cases, while some applicants can enjoy earlier approval. Moreover, any mistake in the application form or applying for a visa during holidays can automatically extend your waiting time.

  • a face photo of a visa applicant
  • a digital copy of the applicant's bio-data passport page

Important:

  • The photos of the above-listed documents can be taken with a smartphone or PC web camera. Please only make sure to upload clear pictures! Our visa experts will adjust the files.
  • Remember that your passport used for the Vietnam e-Visa application cannot expire within at least 6 months from the moment your trip to Vietnam starts.

The entry point can be changed as long as you will not change the way of travel (e.g., from land to air). Otherwise, you will need to apply for a Vietnam e-Visa again and select a new entry point in your application.

Important Information

Any change in your passport data or your passport expiration will automatically make your Vietnamese visa invalid.

e-Visa Vietnam application must be submitted at least 5 business days before the planned trip.

Extending your stay in Vietnam is possible only after arrival and requires an additional fee.

Every traveler visiting Vietnam must have a separate visa for Vietnam. Children are not exempt. Their parents or legal guardians should complete the visa application on their behalf.
